The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), part of the Ministry of Citizens’ Services, is an enterprise organization for the B.C. government which leads the strategy, policy and standards for information technology, IT security and the management of the IM/IT investment portfolio for the Province.

The Strategic Planning and Policy Branch works collaboratively across the OCIO and with its partners, to enhance the OCIO’s overall strategic planning, reporting and engagement (i.e. OCIO Connect) capabilities, and works directly with the OCIO executive to align decisions to strategic direction.

The primary role of the Project Administrator is to provide project management coordination and project management process expertise support to the Branch for a variety of large scale complex projects, and to manage components of assigned projects.  In consultation with project managers and staff, the Project Administrator provides this expertise for small and large projects, including project development, change management, research, monitoring and reporting. The Project Administrator is also a representative on team projects.

The secondary role of the Project Administrator is to provide the Strategic Planning and Policy Branch with overall branch management and coordination of branch operations.  The Project Administrator will provide office managerial expertise by providing the full range of administrative, financial, human resource, contract administration and records management services necessary to support the branch.  The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining administrative standards, budget control.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Diploma in Communications, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field; AND two years of relevant experience as indicated below. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in budget management and/or contract management.
  • Experience analyzing policies and procedures including providing options and recommendations in order to improve project and Branch effectiveness.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience managing projects and/or project components.
  • One or more years of experience with i-Store and putting in i-Store requests.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • One or more years of experience working in an IT focused corporate environment.
  • One or more years of experience in the public sector.
