Court Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of all court administration services in B.C. These consist of registry, trial support and Sheriff Services for Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. The Provincial Small Claims Registry provides the infrastructure to process documents that are required by the court to ensure timely and effective processing of Small Claims cases and support to the justice system.
We are looking for an individual who is interested in undertaking the duties and responsibilities of a Small Claims Registry Technician, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Small Claims courts in the processing and maintenance of Small Claims files and documents. This position also operates and maintains the computerized Civil Electronic Information System (CEIS) to record essential information for processing, maintaining, scheduling and recording data results for Small Claims files; interprets complex documentation in court files for court processing; responds to complex technical inquires from the public, members of the bar and other agencies. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, policies, methods and procedures.

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
Two (2) years’ recent experience working in a legal environment; prefer 1 year of experience working in Court Administration
Two (2) years recent clerical experience education and/or training
Minimum of one (1) year experience using computers and software programs (e.g., Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook)
Typing speed of minimum 40 wpm
Prefer two (2) years’ experience working in customer service
Prefer Authorized Signing Officer for Registrar with signing authority
Prefer experience working in Civil Programs
Prefer experience in CEIS
