The Local Government Infrastructure and Finance Branch ensures the financial viability and sustained community infrastructure of local governments and improvement districts throughout British Columbia by providing advisory support and statutory approvals to promote good financial, administrative and technical practices. The Branch provides technical analysis to other Branches in the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing regarding provincial policy and legislative matters. The Branch also manages various infrastructure grant programs.
This position is developmental in nature and scope. Depending on qualifications, the successful candidate will conduct economic, statistical and financial analysis to provide a complete, reliable and consistent source of data on local governments in British Columbia. The successful candidate will also provide research and analysis/evaluation and will have opportunities to develop analysis and research competencies related to finance and related aspects of local government within the province.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Diploma in a post-secondary program such as Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field plus a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Related experience must include all of the following:
- Experience working in finance and administration.
- Experience in the preparation of reports for executive staff.
- Experience interpreting legislation and conducting analytical research to support budget development and evaluation.
- Experience analysing financial data for variances and trends and recommending remedial actions.
- Experience compiling statistical and summary reports and conducting basic data analysis.
