This is an exciting time to join our team.  We are revitalizing our Information Systems Branch to be a leader in the development of the Justice Sector digital strategy, to be client oriented, future facing and responsive to the diverse needs of our Sector. We are achieving this through a collaborative approach to engagement, planning, budgeting and managing IM/IT projects and operations across the sector. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to revitalizing our Branch.   We are in the process of recruiting a number of positions in our Ministry and an eligibility list may be established for similar positions.

The Information Systems Branch (ISB) is responsible for providing strategic IM/IT leadership for the justice and public safety sector, and for the provision of IM/IT services to support our sector program areas and stakeholders.  The office includes four divisions:  MCIO Division, Client Services Division, IT Security, Privacy & Operations Division, and the Strategic Initiatives Division.

The MCIO Office Division, providing leadership and direction from the Sector Ministry Chief Information Officer and ADM, is an internal support service aimed to assist the branch in achieving its strategic priorities and the provision of corporate internal communications, planning, advice and services for the Justice and Public Safety Sector.

The Manager, Business Operations manages program operations and provides strategic advice to the Information Systems Branch ADM /Ministry Chief Information Officer and the Branch Management Committee (BMC).  The manager develops policies and procedures, provides HR guidance and training support to the expanded leadership team, initiates and reviews program delivery, and plans and manages internal communications.  The manager is part of the Branch Management Committee, Employee Engagement Team and Expanded Leadership Team. To be successful in this position, the candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills, have a tendency towards results orientation and is extremely effective in managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or diploma in business administration, public administration, related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years recent, related experience in a senior administrative role working directly with executive or senior management.
  • Experience leading communications and issues management in relation to organizational change.
  • Demonstrated program/project planning and HR management experience including formal supervisory role and including responsibility for performance management.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to manage sensitive and controversial issues and internal and external stakeholder relationships with sound judgement and confidentiality.
