Strategic HR Manager
Management Band 2

The Strategic Human Resources Branch (SHRB), as part of the Management Services Division, provides support to all four Ministries. SHRB’s mandate is to provide strategic human resources consulting services and deliver programs to build workforce capacity, increase competitiveness and enhance employee engagement to help Ministries achieve their vision, business objectives and corporate strategic priorities and initiatives.

Reporting to Director, Strategic HR, the Strategic HR Manager interacts with all levels of leadership and Executive within the ministry. This position also works in collaboration with the Public Service Agency (PSA). Working within the SHRB for the Economy Sector, the Strategic HR Manager partners with hiring managers to provide advice and consultation on organizational design and to ensure vacancies are filled with quality candidates. This role is responsible for exhibiting exemplary customer service while supporting and providing strategic advice and training with respect to all steps in the recruitment process.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as human resources, public administration, business administration, or the equivalent.
  • 3 years of Human Resources consulting or advising at all levels in an organization. This may include but is not limited to: experience involving strategic planning, organization development, project management, program development and implementation, communication, report development, talent management, succession planning, employee engagement and facilitation.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the recruitment field.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting for a broad range of positions in the public sector.
  • Experience conducting and behavioural- based interviewing.
  • Minimum 3 years in project management
  • Experience building and maintaining trusting relationships with hiring managers at all levels in the organization, subject matter experts, and candidates.

PREFERENCES:

  • CPHR designation is an asset
