The ministry has been developed through the amalgamation of legislative authorities in land and resource agencies to provide clients with a single point of access to natural resource authorizations and resource management services at many locations across the province. The ministry is structured in 23 districts within eight regions under the leadership of three geographically based Assistant Deputy Ministers.

In this position you will provide leadership and direction to the land and water staff within the region and provide direction and input to the development of legislation, policies and regulation affecting land, water, spatial information, First Nations consultation and forest tenuring issues.

This position is the contact point within the ministry for responses to technical information requests and may be called upon to participate in corporate, inter-agency decision making groups, and community and stakeholder advisory committees

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree or diploma in resource management, public administration or related field.
  • Experience in leading, developing, managing, coaching, mentoring and/or evaluating staff at progressively more senior levels. Preference may be given to applicants with three or more years of this experience. Preference may be given to applicants with this experience in a natural resource environment.
  • Experience organizing, managing and leading a diversity of complex projects simultaneously using accepted project management techniques.
  • Experience managing issues, solving strategic problems, providing leadership expertise, gaining commitment, securing resources and/or accomplishing goals.
