DIRECTOR, FINANCIAL AUDIT
MCCF Band 4
Salary Range: $90,900.08 – $118,400.03 per year

The Office of the Auditor General of British Columbia is currently seeking a Director of Financial Audit.
The Director is accountable for the implementation the Office’s business goals under the direction of a Deputy Auditor General and provides considerable input into the Office’s strategic agenda. The Director leads multiple audit teams under the requirements of the Auditor General Act. The position is responsible for managing resources and meeting program deliverables within budget and time allotments.
The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills as well as the ability to develop and maintain effective professional rapport with senior officials; a proven track record in providing audit and assurance services; and demonstrated strong core, leadership, and technical competencies, with emphasis on strategic thinking and change management.
The Office deals with several entities that have International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
In order to be considered for this position, applicants must have:
- A professional accounting designation and experience in conducting financial audits as per GAAS is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience leading financial statement audits, including responsibility for planning, managing, conducting and reporting such activities.
- Preference may be given for applicants with in-depth knowledge and experience working with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
