This Client Relationship Manager position is located in downtown Vancouver.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Client Relationship Manager is responsible for contributing to the overall success of BC Real Estate Banking by meeting his/her goals and objectives and managing a portfolio of accounts.

Goals and objectives include:
* Financial objectives that consist of new loan acceptances, fees and referrals to other departments within the Bank.
* Non-financial objectives that consist of customer service, operational effectiveness and personal development.

Managing a portfolio of BC Real Estate Banking includes:
* Underwriting construction loans, with balances up to $60 million.
* Underwriting commercial mortgages, with balances between $0.5 million to $25 million.
* Interfacing with Client Relationship Managers, Commercial Banking in advancing new deals.
* Interfacing with Small Business Account Managers in advancing new deals.
* Interfacing with Manager, IMS/MBS for Commercial Mortgages funded by third party Investors
* Monitoring all loans to ensure that all conditions are met, and timely action has been taken with sundry maintenance items such as maturity dates and annual reviews

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

*Preparing credit presentations that are concisely written and structured in accordance with Bank standards and completed in a timely fashion.

*Performing due diligence in evaluating information to ensure the major issues and inherent risks that are critical to a sound credit decision have been identified and material facts verified.

*Properly evaluating risk by thoroughly considering the strengths of and major issues relating to the project, the experience and worth of the proponent, and cash flow and asset cover.

*Deliver a consistent customer service experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

*Education – Bachelor degree in Business, Commerce or Economics.

*Experience – Previous commercial credit or real estate lending experience preferred but not mandatory.

*Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential to this position. The Client Relationship Manager, BC Real Estate Banking must be able to effectively articulate views both within the Bank and externally in the marketplace

*Preparing credit applications and communications, and managing a portfolio of BC Real Estate Banking is the primary task for this role. Effective writing and communication skills are necessary. Customer demands are unpredictable, and deadlines are often imposed by client needs. Non standard working hours are a regular occurrence. Standard office environment with some travel to client premises and site visits.

*Strong communication skills, including effective writing skills.

*Understanding of the real estate industry and associated risks from a lender’s perspective.

EDUCATION:

*Undergraduate university degree in Business, Commerce or Economics.

OTHER INFORMATION:

*Preparing credit applications and communications, and managing a portfolio of BC Real Estate Banking is the primary task for this role.

*Effective writing and communication skills are necessary.

*Customer demands are unpredictable, and deadlines are often imposed by client needs.
