This position exercises flexibility, discretion and judgement to determine if tax issues are sufficiently addressed in order to maximize voluntary compliance, minimize potential loss of revenue and limit the risk of tax evasion. The work requires interpretation of legislation and policies and requires remaining up-to-date with frequent changes in legislation. Multiple complex variables apply to individual taxpayer accounts, requiring the conduct of detailed analysis and often necessitating direct discussion with the taxpayer and/or their representatives (law offices/ accountants) to ascertain the facts.

Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Grade 12 graduation or equivalent.
Minimum of three (3) years of clerical/administrative experience in a financial environment.
Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in a regulatory or taxation environment.
Recent (within the last 3 years) experience providing direction and advice to business owners, operators, accountants, lawyers, or the public.
Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience working in a computerized environment, while using Microsoft Office suite and the Internet.
Recent experience working with legal documents, interpreting and applying legislation, regulations and/or policies
Preference may be given to candidates with the following experience:
Working with the Provincial Sales Tax Act.
Working in a call centre atmosphere.
Working in a custom financial database.
