The Financial Institutions Commission (FICOM) regulates the financial services and pension sectors in British Columbia. This regulation is designed to protect the public against the insolvency of financial institutions and pension funds, prevent improper market conduct by financial institutions and their intermediaries, and provide deposit insurance for members of BC credit unions and to ensure solvency of pension funds.

The Intake Administrator reviews and validates incoming submissions and clarifies regulatory requirements with regulated financial institutions. The Intake Administrator also makes recommendations using established criteria and requirements.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Grade 12 graduation or equivalent; undergraduate degree is preferred.
  • Minimum two years’ of experience working in an office setting, preferably in a regulatory or licensing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in word processing, data entry and data management.
  • Experience compiling statistical and summary reports.
  • Experience producing correspondence, memos, detailed reports and/or presentation slides.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with:
    • Experience providing information to a variety of stakeholders including referral to other regulatory or industry organizations.
    • Experience with applying legislation and regulations.
