Tenures and Billing Administrator
Clerk 11R

This position is located in Kamloops, BC.

The Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is the Province’s agency responsible for land and resource management in BC, which includes the protection of the Province’s archaeological and heritage resources. Operating on a provincial land base of over 94 million hectares, the Ministry ensures the sustainable management of forest, wildlife, water and other land based resources; works with Indigenous and rural communities to strengthen and diversify their economies; and, supports activities that provide environmental, economic, cultural and social benefits. The Ministry is responsible for wildfire management and facilitates safe public access to a wide range of recreational activities such as hunting, fishing, and access to BC’s wilderness and backcountry. The Ministry oversees policy development, operational management and implementation, and administers all or part of over 60 statutes and associated regulations.

The Administrator, working independently as part of a self-directed team, provides specialized technical and administrative services for the South Area Timber Tenures and Pricing Programs. The Pricing and Tenures Administrator prepares a wide variety of tenure licence contracts for competitive tender and direct award. They provide financial administration and maintain a variety of systems and ensure all stumpage billings and invoices are accurate and complete. Highly organized, you capably prioritize and manage your workload to meet deadlines, using your outstanding eye for detail to ensure all work is carried out to a high standard. You are an effective communicator, able to successfully establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, and demonstrate initiative and good judgement in applying procedures within established policies and guidelines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Diploma in public administration, business administration, finance or legal and two [2] years of administrative experience; and/or secondary school graduation supplemented by related courses and four [4] years of administrative experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience gained within the last seven [7] years. Administrative experience must include: experience in keyboarding, database management, spreadsheets, word processing and other standard computer applications [MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook] with strong demonstrated skills.
  • Experience and/or training with business writing, editing and formatting.

Prefer experience in one or more of the following:

  • Experience in contract and/or tenure administration.
  • Experience computing a variety of mathematical calculations and using applications to enter and retrieve data.
