Working with clients, potential investors, stakeholders, industry and government, the Ministry’s International Business Development Division provides integrated trade and investment promotion programs to help BC increase exports, attract investment, develop international partnerships, and grow BC’s industries.

Program Assistant provides front desk reception coverage and a variety of office administrative, secretarial and financial support services for the branch including coordinating the day to day priorities of the manager, and providing liaison with ministry executive offices.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum of 1 year (2 years preferred) administrative/clerical/reception experience working in a professional office environment, including:
    • Providing reception coverage;
    • Preparing, editing and proofreading routine correspondence;
    • Responding to general inquiries in person, via e-mail and phone calls;
    • Arranging and scheduling meetings using an electronic calendar.
  • Experience using word processing and standard applications, including: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    Preference may be given for:

  • Certificate or diploma in office administration or in a similar field
  • Experience booking travel arrangements and processing financial material for reimbursement.
  • Experience in Time and Leave (TLAM).
  • Experience in CAS iExpense.
  • Experience in records management using systems such as ARCs/ORCs or eTrim.
  • Experience using correspondence tracking system CLIFF.
