The Quality Assurance Unit is responsible for a range of quality assurance policies and initiatives for the BC post-secondary sector.  It is the Secretariat to the Degree Quality Assessment Board (DQAB), which advises the Minister on new degree proposals and the capacity of private institutions to deliver high quality degree-level programming.  It administers the audit program for public post-secondary institution quality assurance processes, as well as the Province’s Education Quality Assurance (EQA) designation.  The Unit is also responsible for enforcement of the Degree Authorization Act (DAA).

The Education Officer works both independently and collaboratively to provide leadership, specialized expertise, and assessment for degree level programs and institutions within the post-secondary system (both public and private).  The position is also responsible for a range of quality assurance initiatives including the EQA designation.

Job Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree in social sciences, education, law, public administration or business administration or other relevant level of study and a minimum of two years related experience involving planning, developing, analyzing and evaluating strategic and/or operational programs and policies. Masters degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preference may be given to Candidates with experience in one or all of the following:

  • Post-secondary institution evaluation/accreditation processes;
  • Post-secondary educational policy development;
  • Developing or evaluating degree-level programs.

PROVISO:

  • Some travel required.
