The Property Taxation Branch (PTB) is responsible for the administration of rural property taxes, speculation and school and police tax and financing of rural taxing jurisdictions, school taxes, property tax deferment, property transfer tax, home owner grant administration and self-taxation for First Nations.
The Branch is the province’s rural property taxation agency. The Branch will bill and collect taxes on over 440,000 taxable rural properties for a total of over $900 million in revenue. In addition to the annual property tax section, the branch will implement and collect the speculation tax.
Working with the Director, Annual Property Tax and reporting to the Senior Tax Auditor, this position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely remitting and reporting, auditing, accounting and reconciliation to province of over $3.1 billion in provincial school taxes collected by municipalities from property tax payers in their jurisdictions.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Completion of a Professional accounting designation CPA, CA, CGA, CMA issued by a Canadian Accounting Association .Note: If your professional designation was obtained from outside of Canada, you will need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through an applicable Canadian Accounting Association.
Experience in audit, inspection and/or accounting.
Experience interpreting legislation and policy in a regulatory/compliance review setting.
Preference may be given to applicants with complex income tax audit experience.

A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Occasional travel may be required. A valid BC Drivers’ license is required.
