Supporting both the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction (SDPR) and the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), the Information Services Division provides strong information technology planning, services, and solutions. The division serves the social sector’s current and future needs.

Role accountabilities:

The Business Analyst delivers effective information technology supports and solutions to ministry program areas. This is a multi-faceted role where you will facilitate the development and implementation of technology solutions by participating in planning sessions with clients, analyzing business needs, and defining requirements, detailed specifications and models; researching solutions and developing feasibility studies/business cases and recommending best solutions; and coordinating the implementation, quality assurance, and ongoing supports of systems.

The Business Analyst is analytical, organized and skilled at defining processes and solutions. This role requires someone able to effectively implement new/changed systems and implement technical approaches to generate business value, address opportunities or problems. You are an excellent communicator and able to work collaboratively and productively with a diverse group of stakeholders to meet shared goals. Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in the computer science field or related field and a minimum of two (2) years related experience; OR a combination of education, experience and training and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience may be considered.

Related experience must include:

  • Experience providing business analysis services.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

  • Experience in Project Management; and/or
  • Experience in application development life cycle.
