As the Senior Solutions Developer, you lead and coordinate application development teams in the application development lifecycle and in planning, designing, developing, testing, enhancing and maintaining mission critical applications of significant complexity and cost, including multiple platforms, environments and technologies requiring integration of new and legacy systems.
Highly analytical, you monitor business functional areas to identify trends and/or emerging situations affecting existing systems and applications by analyzing user needs and requests and participating in formal business and procedural analysis; prepare proposals including costing/budget information, project plans and detailed functional specifications; design, develop and test application solutions to ensure specific design requirements are adhered to and meet stringent functional and performance specifications; and ensure interoperability within a complex multi-faceted shared environment, including performance, security, stability, resource requirements, support requirements and monitoring.
A strong team player, you work with both internal and external experts and stakeholders, including developing and presenting proposals to user clients and recommending improvements to business processes; providing ongoing application support for incident management, change management and problem resolution; and participating in relevant committees and working groups. You also research best practices and new technologies, and recommend innovative solutions to incorporate into existing Ministry systems.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in one or more of the following Microsoft based software development:
C# .NET applications (.net core and .net 4 and up) in a Visual Studio IDE.
ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC web applications.
Visual Studio IDE and Visual Studio Team Services
Release Management, IIS, SQL Server, Message Queuing and Service Bus
Experience participating in project teams including application developers, business area users, and technical resources.
Experience with structured and object oriented programming in a complex rules based environment.
Experience in data modelling, process modelling, and/or business area analysis techniques.
Experience troubleshooting, debugging, and providing operational support of complex systems.
Preference may be given to familiarity with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI) and Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP).
Successful completion of security screening requirements of the BC Public Service, which may include a criminal records check, and/or Criminal Records Review Act (CRRA) check, and/or enhanced security screening checks as required by the ministry (Note: It is important that you read the job posting carefully to understand the specific security screening requirements pertaining to the position).
