The Investment, Innovation and Technology Division works with internal (i.e., within Government) and external (i.e., other levels of Government, industry and Indigenous) stakeholders to facilitate international and domestic investment. The Division focuses on facilitating investment that will contribute to Government’s objective of quality economic growth that will benefit all British Columbians.
The Ministry’s Investment Evaluation and Policy Branch undertakes a variety of projects to assess Government’s current investment policy framework and recommends actions that position Government to better facilitate investments of all types and sizes. The Branch works directly with companies that wish to invest in the province to better understand specific investment opportunities and evaluate their potential costs and benefits. The Branch also engages with industry associations and companies to better understand their business challenges and opportunities with a view to enhance the provincial investment climate.
The Senior Policy Analyst coordinates and leads the research, analysis, development and implementation of policies and legislation. The ideal candidate would be a skilled information gatherer, able to use the internet, industry databases and other sources to retrieve information and provide relevant findings. A highly effective communicator with conflict resolution skills, you review and analyze client information as well as deal with sensitive issues in a calm, productive manner. This role requires sound judgement and excellent organizational abilities. In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a related field.
A minimum 2 years in each of the following:
- Experience in the development of legislation, regulation or policy.
- Experience in planning or coordinating complex projects/assignments.
- Experience in concisely and persuasively writing a range of documents/content.
- Master’s degree in public administration, business administration, law, economics, social sciences, natural resource management or a related field.
