Report Release | Annual Report and Financial Statements 2016/17 – Auditor General of British Columbia

VICTORIA – The Office of the Auditor General presented its annual report and financial statements for 2016/17 to the Legislative Assembly today. The report provides an overview of the office’s performance last year, as well as a look ahead at its goals and priorities for this year.
“I’m proud of our performance this past year,” said Auditor General Carol Bellringer. “We released more reports than we planned, improved our staff engagement scores in every category, and worked on new ways to be even more effective and efficient.”
The office released 66 reports, including 44 audit opinions on government’s financial statements, 15 performance audit reports that speak to the efficiency and effectiveness of government’s programs, and 7 other publications, such as its information report explaining health funding.
The office’s projects for the next three years can be found in its performance audit and financial audit coverage plans. Both coverage plans are available on the office’s website.
