Canadian Institute’s 6th Annual Conference on First Nations Housing & Infrastructure, West returns to Vancouver on April 30 & May 1, to bring together leaders in construction, government and First Nations communities to address complex housing challenges and provide the latest insights on funding and financing opportunities for both housing and infrastructure needs.
Fueled by the practical knowledge of Indigenous leaders and expert speakers from Aboriginal Housing Management Association (AHMA), First Nations Housing & Infrastructure Council, Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary, this year’s program is co-chaired by April Martel (Chief, K’atl’odeeche First Nation) and Lory Oberst (Director, BC First Nations Housing Managers Association).
The conference serves as a vital platform for exploring innovative strategies, sharing best practices, and fostering collaborative partnerships between First Nations, government and industry leaders in energy, construction and design. Focusing on infrastructure projects in Indigenous communities, experts will take a deep look at the federal budget’s funding allocation, identify financing opportunities, and address the pressing challenges facing the housing sector in First Peoples territories.
