Position Summary

We are currently seeking an Adult Day Service Worker to join our dedicated and energetic team at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops!

Working within a client-centered model, the Adult Day Service Worker is responsible for meeting the needs of an assigned group of clients by assisting them in carrying out established programs and activity of daily living tasks.

Ponderosa Lodge, located in Kamloops, embodies a resident-centered philosophy designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level, and provide the best quality of life possible. Beds at Ponderosa are “short term” only and consist of:
• 68 First Appropriate Bed – these residents are waiting for a permanent bed in a residential care facility; or
• 68 Convalescent care beds that include respite care.

This is a 1.00 full-time relief line until the return of incumbent. Shifts are Monday to Friday, Days from 09:00 to 17:00.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will a team player who has completed a recognized Home Support Resident Care Attendant program in addition to having two years of recent experience in recreation programs and strong communication skills.

• Grade 12, completion of Home Support Resident Care Attendant Program, experience in a variety of recreation programs, two years recent related experience; or a combination of education, training and experience
• Food Safe Certificate
