Job Description:

• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Recruit and hire staff

Requirements:

– Education: Completion of high school is required.

– Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a cook is required. In the event that the candidate does not have 3 years of experience then a post-secondary certificate is required.

-Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Attention to detail, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Work under pressure

-Language: English is required

Salary: $21.00 hourly, 48 Hours per week.

Important Information: Flexibility on schedule is required. Work on weekends and holidays is required. The employee will work from Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and from Saturday to Sunday from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Mondays are off. Overtime may be required depending on the business needs.
