The Brickhouse Restaurant Ltd. located at 401 2nd Avenue, Fernie, BC V0B 1M0, is recruiting two (2) full-time cook. This position is responsible to oversee kitchen operations in support of the Head Cook and must be creative and experienced culinary professionals. The cook works 35-40 hours per week and the salary offered is $20 per hour plus cost-shared benefits including extended health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D insurance, and paramedical services. Our restaurant is open between the hours of 11:30 AM-10:00PM, 7 days a week. It’s imperative that the successful candidates have 2-3 year of experience as a cook or chef.

Responsibilities

• Prepare season and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
• Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• May set up and oversee buffets
• May clean kitchen and work area
  May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
• May hire and train kitchen staff.
• Assist chefs and waitstaff as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 3 years experience as a cook or chef
• Completion of secondary school or equivalent
• Strong communication skills with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.
• Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions
