Required Farm Worker – General

Total Vacancies: 10

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Plant, cultivate and irrigate the crops
• Fertilize and spray the crops
• Harvest the crops
• Precisely monitor the proper growth of the crop and detect for any disorder or disease to the crop
• Examine the produce for quality and prepare for the market
• Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment.
• Specific skills – hoeing crops, hand harvesting crops
• Combination of sitting, standing, bending, walking, kneeling, crouching.

Key Requirements:

• Experience an asset – 1 year to less than 2 years
• Education is not a mandate
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Able to work for extended hours and long shifts.
• Attention to detail and strong and hard worker.
• Able to perform the tasks repetitively as the job is physically demanding.
• Hand and eye co-ordination.
• Must be eager to learn and work with co-workers.
• Handling heavy loads.

Language: English

Salary: CAD$ 15.50 /hour. Full-time permanent position at East Garafaxa Farm located at 231083 County Road 24, East Garafaxa, Ontario L0N 1G0
