The incumbent ensures that equipment is reprocessed and distributed to meet expected demand and achieve HELP program goals, ensures that the equipment consistently meets departmental standards for quality and that assigned hubs and client service sites within the Northern BC and Yukon region, are kept in safe working order and OH&S regulations are adhered to.

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee equipment distribution operations including but not limited to inventory and parts management, equipment reprocessing, customer and the client service site equipment delivery process.
  • Provide expert technical advice to staff, volunteers, and health care professionals, pertaining to health equipment.
  • Monitor program delivery to ensure performance standards and quality control are maintained
  • Ensure that all WHMIS Program requirements are adhered to for assigned sites.
  • Participate in equipment cleaning, disinfection, inspection, repair, database, delivery, and installation as needed to meet operational requirements.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and equipment standards
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and support all program technical staff and volunteers
  • Collaborate with Partner Services on equipment-related issues including equipment inventory needs, repairs etc.
  • Ensure that HELP fleet vehicles are maintained according to National fleet maintenance policies.

What we are looking for:

  • Completion of a 2-year post-secondary diploma in a relevant field, 3 years of job-related work experience, and 2 years’ experience supervising employees and/or volunteers, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience working with a diverse population and an understanding of cultural issues.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License.
  • Ability to be self-directed.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Medical equipment repair experience.

Working conditions:

  • Frequent travel around the region is required.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
