About this Opportunity

Westbank First Nation is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking student, who is interested in public works and utilities and desires some hands-on experience. The Student Labourer is responsible for performing the daily tasks required to assist the landscape/maintenance crew to ensure cleanup of all jobs are properly completed.

  • Perform maintenance duties as part of the department’s landscape and infrastructure maintenance activities as it aligns with the BC Employment “Light Work” Standards
  • Assist fellow crew members to ensure economical, cost-effective, and efficient use of resources
  • Comply with all applicable safety regulations and procedures
  • Fill out and hands in a timesheet at the completion of each work day to ensure proper accounting for expenditures for labour, materials, and equipment
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by a direct supervisor.
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Westbank First Nation policies, standards and procedures

Must Haves:

  • Students must be 14 years of age or older and returning to secondary or post-secondary school in the fall of 2023.
  • Any student ages 14 – 15 will be required to have a legal guardian complete the “parent or guardians written consent to employ a child” form prior to employment.
  • No Experience necessary / related experience would be an asset
  • Must have own transportation
  • Criminal Record Check with results acceptable to WFN
