Position Summary

If medical nursing is your passion and you are a reliable, flexible and motivated registered nurse; we have an exciting permanent full time opportunity for you at our 4A unit at the Kelowna General Hospital.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Registered Nurse who has strong acute medical experience, exceptional clinical and critical thinking skills and the adaptability and enthusiasm to excel in a fast paced medical unit.

What will you work on?

The Registered Nurse practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse ensures the delivery of client–centered care by assisting individual clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. The Registered Nurse demonstrates a specialized body of knowledge and bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.

Shift types are days, nights and shift times are 07:00-19:00 and 19:00-07:00 hours.

About this location/Unit

Unit 4A is a 32 bed medical renal unit.

Surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, the thriving city of Kelowna is situated on the eastern shores of Lake Okanagan in the sunny, south central region of British Columbia. It is the largest city in the area and boasts all of the amenities of a major centre with amazing recreation opportunities right on the doorstep!

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).

**Recent acute medical experience would be considered an asset.
