Job Purpose and Impact

The Regulatory and Quality System Management will ensure compliance with food safety programs, regulations and standards in the areas of labeling, registration, documentation, permit and license applications and other regulatory functions. In this role, you will be accountable for maintaining the quality management system as well as providing technical support to sales, customers, operations and government agencies in regulatory functions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage the feed safety management system and document control program to appropriate government regulations and quality standard
  • Conduct verification and maintenance of the food safety and quality systems, hazard analysis and sanitation processes, prerequisite programs, manufacturing processes and finished product
  • Ensure adherence to corporate, regulatory, customer and facility food safety and quality requirements and completion of corrections and corrective actions
  • Lead relevant corporate, regulatory and compliance food safety focused audits and act as liaison for the business with external regulatory and certifying bodies
  • Lead and maintain all activities pertaining to import and export of feed and ingredients
  • Review and understand laws, regulations, and procedural changes, assess risk and opportunities to resolve potential impact within business and provide support to ensure compliance in a variety of methods related to labeling, registration, customer documentation, permitting, licensing and other regulatory functions.
  • Provide support and consultation on complex regulatory and compliance topics
  • Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma/Certificate or bachelor’s degree in a related field (biology, microbiology, science) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with food safety compliance programs
  • Knowledge of government regulations
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Import and export regulations
  • Experience working in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with animal feed
