Restaurant Manager
Me-n-Eds, located at 1121 Austin Ave, Coquitlam, BC V3K 3P4, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant. The salary is $36.60 per hour, working 35 hours per week. These are full-time, year-round positions.
The ideal candidate will ensure an excellent dining experience for guests, maintain high standards of food quality and service, manage staff performance, and uphold financial goals. You will play a key leadership role in managing all operations, training staff, and creating a welcoming and efficient atmosphere. This is also a hands-on kitchen role. We expect all members of our team, management included to participate in food preparation, answering phones, and supporting kitchen and bar staff with all tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day restaurant operations including dining, kitchen, delivery and bar areas. This includes food preparation and participation in all kitchen functions and tasks.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
- Ensure safety compliance in accordance with Worksafe BC regulations
- Monitor inventory, order food and supplies, and manage waste.
- Monitor delivery vehicle and restaurant equipment status and maintenance schedules
- Ensure building and property cleanliness and repairs are handled in a timely fashion
Staff Management
- Interview, hire, train, and schedule front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching or disciplinary action as needed.
- Foster a positive team environment and resolve staff conflicts.
Customer Service
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering excellent service and food quality.
- Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally and promptly, both in person and over the phone.
- Engage with guests to ensure their dining experience meets or exceeds expectations.
Financial Oversight
- Monitor daily sales and expenditures.
- Prepare weekly/monthly reports on revenue, expenses, and food costs
- Implement and monitor cost-control measures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Marketing & Promotion
- Collaborate on local marketing strategies and promotional events.
- Support loyalty programs and customer retention initiatives.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 to 3 years of restaurant management experience
- Proven experience managing a team of at least 30 staff preferred
- Completion of post-secondary education in hospitality or food and beverage service management OR the equivalent in experience is required
- Certification in food safety or health and sanitation
- Serving it Right Certification
- Willingness to prepare food items and support all basic kitchen and bar tasks when required during shifts
- Experience with high-volume food service establishments.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, customer service, and food safety.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic financial reporting.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Majority of shifts on a weekly basis will be evening and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Ability to stand for long periods
- A desire to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to manage high-pressure situations calmly
