Vice President of Business Develoment
Virogin Biotech is a clinical stage biotech company developing next-generation immuno-oncolytic therapeutics to enhance the systemic antitumor immunity. We are located at 150 – 13511 Commerce Parkway, Richmond BC. We are recruiting a Vice President of Global Business Development (NOC 00015) to join our team. This is for a full-time, permanent position to start as soon as possible. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. The offered salary ranges between $130 – $150K per annum. Extended health, medical and dental benefits are available after completing 3 months.

Position Description:
Reporting to the CEO and working at the Richmond BC office, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the Global Business Development department.
The successful candidate will be able to perform the following duties detailed below:
- Set goals and develop business strategies for the Business Development department globally, focusing on in/out licensing, collaborative Research & Development agreements, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and technology and intellectual licensing opportunities with industry, academia, and government agencies.
- Drive to maximize income and address company growth and success by building various forms of alliances and addressing problems as they arise within assigned scope.
- Work with the management team to decide on Virogin’s business strategies to foster better business success on a global basis and develop a mission and implement strategies.
- Build a business network and improve the company’s relationship with industry, academia, and government agencies.
- Network with other industry executives, stay informed of opportunities, cutting-edge technologies, and developments, and be prepared for potential opportunities in license in/out and other assigned fields.
- Monitor and evaluate the global business development department’s operating performance, ensure all policies are followed, and lead the research of new business opportunities and budget decisions.
- Oversee and manage all phases of the deal cycle, including opportunity development and assessment, due diligence, proposal development, term proposals, and definitive agreement review.
- Research industry standards and promote innovation within the Global Business Development department.
- Oversee and manage the business development pipeline on every aspect.
- Represent the company at regional and international conferences and exhibitions, present and deliver information to potential clients and partners.
- Support Virogin’s Initial Public Offering activities from fundraising, presentations in road shows, liaising with existing and potential investors, partners, consultants, etc.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the leadership team.
Requirements and Qualifications:

- Strong leadership capability and relationship management skills.

- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to work extra hours, even at odd times.
- Possess reliable problem-solving ability.
- PhD. in bio-chemical academic area is required.
- Successful experience in licensing in/out deals in biological drug solutions development in cancer treatment areas would be an asset.
