Alderon to Change TSX Share Ticker Symbol to ‘IRON’

Alderon Iron Ore Corp. (TSX: ADV) (“Alderon” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that its common share ticker symbol will change from ‘ADV’ to ‘IRON’ upon the commencement of trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on March 8, 2017.

No action is required to be taken by current shareholders in connection with the change, and no change has been made to Alderon’s share capital.  There is no change in the Company’s name, no change in its CUSIP number, and no consolidation of its share capital.

The ticker symbol change comes at a transformative time for the Company. The Company recently announced that it has received the results of the preliminary economic assessment (“PEA”) on the Rose Deposit of the Kamistiatusset (“Kami”) Iron Ore Property in Western Labrador. The PEA was prepared as a result of a re-scoping exercise of the capital and operating costs of the Kami Project, which was necessary in order to identify the savings that arose as a result of the depressed state of the market that existed over the last several years, changes in ownership and management of assets in the Labrador Trough, and the idling of the neighbouring Wabush Scully Mine.
