BC Aboriginal Provincial Softball Development Camp
The Aboriginal Sport, Recreation and Physical Activity Partners Council (Partners Council) of BC is pleased to announce the 2015 BC Aboriginal Provincial Softball Development Camp will be hosted by the Ooknakane Friendship Centre in partnership with Softball BC from September 26-27, 2015 at Carmi Ball Park in Penticton.
This 1.5 day camp is for Aboriginal youth softball players, ages 11 to 17, who want to develop their existing skills and gain quality coaching and instruction in a positive, fun and professional atmosphere. Registration is open to eligible participants – no pre-qualification required. Youth will be separated into groups based on age/eligibility where necessary.
Please note youth born in the years 1998 to 2003 will be age eligible for the sport of softball at the upcoming Toronto 2017 North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) and these youth can consider this camp a developmental ID camp with opportunity for exposure to and to work with members of Team BC NAIG Coaching Staff and/or Provincial Aboriginal Softball Committee. (official Team BC selection process will be conducted in 2016).
Who:
Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis, Inuit) youth softball players, ages 11-17.
Registration Fee:
$20/participant. Fee includes 1.5 days of camp activities, lunch on Saturday, souvenir BC Aboriginal Camp t-shirt. Registration Deadline: Please pre-register by 5pm, Wed., September 16th by submitting the reg form.
