More than 100 Aboriginal and Non-Aboriginal Companies to Connect with Aboriginal Communities from BC, Alberta at ABM West in Penticton May 11 to 13
SYILX/OKANAGAN TERRITORY, BC – The Aboriginal Business Match will connect Aboriginal decision-makers from across BC and Alberta with more than 100 Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal companies to reap the benefits of creating partnerships in training, employment, joint ventures, investment and more.
ABM is the most powerful Aboriginal-driven business development event in Canada connecting Aboriginal corporations and communities with the private sector to create opportunities for business.
“This will be the Penticton Indian Band’s third year hosting the Aboriginal Business Match, which has proven very successful in building profitable business relationships,” said Chief Jonathan Kruger of the Penticton Indian Band.
“We believe these relationships are imperative to the successful future of Canada’s economy, and society as a whole. This event is unparalleled in creating profitable business deals. The last two events in Okanagan territory generated more than $60 million dollars in new business.”
ABM connects a corporate network in tune with the vast opportunities and unique characteristics of Aboriginal economic development in two ways: through the use of detailed profiles on the ABM website and one -on-one pre-scheduled appointments. ABM delegates choose to meet one- on- one through the selection of potential business matches using profile information. Sophisticated business matching software efficiently facilitates this process through targeted appointment selection.
ABM West is supported by a Steering Committee comprised of Aboriginal and corporate leadership from the Penticton Indian Band, BC Métis Federation, Tsleil- Waututh Nation, Pacific Coastal Airlines, Gwa’sala – ‘Nakwaxda’xw Nation, BMO, Quantum Murray LP, Business Development Bank of Canada, Precision Drilling, FleishmanHillard, Aboriginal Travel Services, Elevator Strategy, and Williams Scotsman Canada.
For more information about ABM West and two other events this year, ABM Prairies, June 1 to 3, Saskatoon SK and ABM East, November 2 to 4, Mississauga, ON visit www.aboriginalbusinessmatch.com.
