Squamish Nation: Elder & Traditional Healer Survey

by ahnationtalk on November 20, 202012 Views

The Yúustway Health & Wellness department is in the beginning stages of recruiting Elder(s)/Traditional Healer(s) for the Kal’numet Primary Care department. The Elder/Traditional Healer role incorporates traditional and cultural teachings to maintain and promote Squamish Nation cultural values, beliefs, and teachings, while supporting the organization to achieve its goal of improving health outcomes for the community.

In many First Nation communities, Elder/Traditional Healers have unique wellness and traditional healing practices. Some specialize in specific practices while others may have multiple specialties they offer to support community members’ health and wellness.

The Yúustway Health & Wellness department is seeking community feedback on possible options to recruit the position to provide the best care for the members.

All members who complete the survey will be entered into a draw for a chance to win one of two $100 gift cards to Shoppers Drug Mart.

The survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.

Paper copies of the survey can be picked up and/or dropped off at:
• Health Building, Unit 9A, 380 Welch Street, West Vancouver
• Totem Hall, 1380 Stawamus Drive, Squamish

If you require assistance with completing the survey over the phone, please call 604-982-0332.

Survey closes on Friday, December 11th at 4 pm.
