TNDC is pleased to welcome four new directors to its board and bids a warm farewell to four outgoing board members.

Riannon Ball, Norman Day (Vice Chair), Marty Nole and Clayton Thomas join the TNDC board, bringing a mixture of business management, environmental science, trades, financial management, contract management and governing experience.

The new members will serve a term ending at the 2016 TNDC annual general meeting, at which time they may be reappointed. They join existing board members Jamie Gleason, Herbert Henyu and Vernon Marion. Alano Edzerza, Ryan Franke (Vice Chair), Feddie Louie and Bill McPhee resigned to focus on retirement and other career obligations.

“The TNDC board is excited to welcome Clayton, Marty, Norman and Rhiannon. Each brings excellent skills, knowledge and experience that will tremendously benefit TNDC in support of its mission and goals,” says TNDC Chair Calvin Carlick. “We also extend a heartfelt thank you to Alano, Bill, Feddie and Ryan for their loyal service to the Tahltan peoples’ business corporation. They played an integral role in the advancement of our governing body, supporting important decisions through their contributions.

TNDC’s board includes a chair, vice chair and six board member positions. Board members must be of Tahltan ancestry and appointments are approved by TNDC’s shareholders: the Tahltan Central Council, Iskut Band and Tahltan Band, by the leadership teams.

Board members are selected for their breadth of skills and experience in support of TNDC’s mandate to maintain a profitable organization that generates wealth, economic, employment and training opportunities for all members of the Tahltan Nation while adhering to Tahltan values, by realizing environmentally, economically and socially responsible development opportunities inside and outside Tahltan territory.

“On behalf of Herbert, Jamie and Vernon, I extend a warm welcome to Clayton, Marty, Norman and Rhiannon to the 2014-2015 TNDC Board of Directors,” Calvin says. “We have a strong team and look forward to working together to deliver on TNDC’s mandate and achieve its goals.”
