Position: Specialty foods chef (Japanese foods)
Wage: CAD$28.00-35.00/hour (depending on skills and experiences)
Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working hours: 30-40 hours/week
Benefits: 4% of vacation pay
Job Duties:
Job Duties:
- Plan and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of sushi foods
- Prepare and cook Japanese foods, chef’s specials, and specialty foods
- Create new recipes
- Plan menus and ensure sushi food meets quality and safety standards
- Demonstrate and train new cooking techniques/equipment to staff
- Supervise activities of cooks and staff
- Monitor and requisition food and supplies
- Arrange any repair /purchase of equipment
- Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies
Job Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school;
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in commercial food preparation required.
- Cook’s trade certification an asset
